A new movie version of Chick-fil, The Chicken King, will premiere this fall on Netflix and Disney XD.
Titled Chick-Fil-A, the movie takes place in Atlanta and stars the titular chicken.
The movie will also star Michael Peña, whose character was originally voiced by the late Steve Martin in the 1990s sitcom, Chicken Little.
It will also feature several cameo appearances by Peña.
“Chick Fil-A is a brand of quality American chicken,” said Disney Channel President David Polansky in a statement.
“We have been working with our talented creative team to deliver this movie to audiences of all ages.
And we are thrilled to announce that we will be releasing the Chick-Film as a new series in 2019.”
The new movie will be released exclusively on Disney XD, and Disney says it will premiere on October 16.
The chicken will also appear in the 2018 Disney Channel miniseries The Chicken House.
“Our chickens have been in our hearts for decades and the Chicken Guy is a perfect fit for the Chicken House,” said co-creator/executive producer Dan Castellaneta in a release.
“The chicken in this movie is so authentic, and he’s a great character for a story that explores the importance of being chicken.
Chick Fil-Am is an American institution, and we are excited to continue the tradition.”
Peña has a long history of comedic work, including roles on The Larry Sanders Show, The Daily Show, and Saturday Night Live.
The Chicken Movie is a comedy with a comedic bent that will feature a cast that includes Jason Alexander, Michael Peñasas and others.
